Montenegro vs Czech Republic
Situation in the Group A is surprising and right these two teams have underperformed. Montenegro is nailed to the bottom of table and has just two points and no victories. The Czech Republic stands a bit better and it occupies the 3rd place having six points, however, they were unexpectedly defeated by Kosovo several days ago. The Czech Republic won their first qualifier by sound 3-0.
It can be said that these qualifications are almost lost for Montenegro but they will try to do something before the end. They are the last in the Group A and clearly that they couldn’t parry to leading England so they hoped to join the race for the 2nd place. Right now the Montenegrins have six points fewer than team that occupies that position, which is surprisingly occupied by Kosovo. In between them are the Czech Republic and Bulgaria, which is why is very difficult to do something in remaining four matches.
It can be practically said that Montenegro has to win all matches till the end and one of them is away match with England. They started with a good draw in Bulgaria and then suffered a true debacle against England 5-1 in Podgorica. The Montenegrins merely drew with Kosovo in front of their fans, and then they lost in the Czech Republic by 3-0. Manager Tumbakovic was replaced and Faruk Hadzibegic lead the national team now, who debuted with winning a friendly with Hungary 2-1.
Probable lineups Montenegro: Mijatovic – Marusic, Savic, Simic, Radunovic – Vukcevic, Scekic – Boljevic, Kosovic, Jankovic – Beqiraj
The Czech Republic is in a better position and they are certainly a serious candidate to win the 2nd place, but they definitely didn’t need to lose to Kosovo in the previous round. In the 2st one they suffered a true debacle in England and the result read at the end 5-0. This wasn’t an unexpected result given the quality of their opponents, while after that they defeated Bulgaria away by 2-1 and then played even better against Montenegro 3-0. All this was a good introduction for away match with Kosovo, however, it turned out that the Czechs still play much better at home.
They took a lead in Kosovo after Schick scored for 1-0, who plays very good in these qualifications and has knocked down Bulgaria in the second round with two goals, while on top of it he also scored against Montenegro in the first match. They didn’t keep the lead and somehow everything came back to them, given they were losing to Bulgaria but then had made a turnaround. Now, the Czechk received two goals and lost, and put themselves in an unenviable situation. It didn't help that midfielder Darid was back in the team. Boril played at the left flank instead of Novak and now the two of them could again swap places, and we expect to see Husbauer in the midfield.
Probable lineups Czech Republic: Vaclik – Kaderabek, Suchy, Celustka, Novak – Soucek, Darida – Masopust, Husbauer, Jankto – Schick
The Montenegrins have no room for mistake but also they have nothing to lose. We expect to try with offensive tactic to win their first match and that will leave room for the Czechs, who also need points very much, to fight back.
