Newcastle vs Manchester Utd

This is the last match of the 8th round and both teams have underperformed this season. Newcastle won only once and occupy next-to-last place in the table. They have won five points, four fewer than Manchester United but that is good enough only for the middle of table, which doesn’t satisfy their fans. Manchester United won this away match last season by 2-0.

Newcastle won only once so far but they can boast with fact that they won away European Vice-Champion Tottenham. After that they drew two and lost two matches, where both draws were played at home and both defeats were suffered away. They were even able to take a lead against Liverpool but in the end the home team won by 3-1 fr, while in the previous round they suffered the highest defeat so far this season. They lost to Leicester away 5-0, where Hayden was sent off near the end of the first half. He cannot play now, and Yedlin, Willems, Shelvey and Saint-Maximin could be new players in the line-up.

Probable lineups Newcastle: Dubravka – Yedlin, Schar, Lascelles, Dummett, Willems – Longstaff, Shelvey – Saint-Maximin, Almiron – Joelinton

Manchester United

Just two wins in seven rounds is not what they expected at Old Trafford, especially as they already lost two times. With three more draws that is enough only for the middle of the table, although the ambitions were very high. It turns out that wasn’t realistic, so it can be already said that the United should be satisfied if it reaches the Champions League. They play in the Europa League this season and cannot boast with good results, although in first two rounds they won and drew. In two previous rounds of the Premier League they lost to West Ham and draw with Arsenal. Pogba is injured again, and Lingard is out of action, while some players are questionable.

Probable lineups Manchester Utd: de Gea – Wan-Bissaka, Tuanzebe, Maguire, Shaw – Pereira, Matic, McTominay – Mata, Rashford, James

Newcastle plays poorly this season but they managed to put up a decent resistance to stronger teams. Manchester United didn’t do anything special this season and the home team is not without chances but the guests are still favourites to win. We forecast that more than few goals will be scored at St. James Park.
